A Rant

Aarghhh! I am SO bloody sick of being pestered morning, noon and night by these ppl trying to sell me crappy things that I don't want or need. No day is exempt and no time is too inconvenient for them.

In this past week *has kept a record* (needs to get out more *lol*), I've been harrassed by double glazing (2), security systems (1), fitted kitchen (2), Barclaycard (1) and just then, Hewlett Mobile whom I told to get stuffed cos I'm just about sick of it. Whan asked by one salesman if I was 'Mrs Force' I simply replied that no-one by that name lived at this address and hung up, so I have no idea what that particular person was trying to get me to sign my life away for.

It's really does bug the hell out of me, especially when these buggers ring me at 9 in the evening or at the weekend. I find it's a gross invasion of privacy and, short of getting an unlisted number, I'm not sure what can be done to prevent this. The government really should address this problem as I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person who's thoroughly and utterly pissed off about this!

Rant over. Thanks.

We used to get those a lot. Not so much now, because the telephone line is never freed up enough *whistles* for anyone to call. People have to either arrange to call, or they don't get to talk to us. lol* If they want to talk to Mum, I'm told to get off the Internet for a bit. If they want to talk to me, they either have twigged on to phone at some ungodly hour in the morning to wake me up before I get online, they come online to talk to me (the sensible option) or if not, phone me on my mobile as long as it's on.

So we don't get bugged by telesales people much anymore. Mwahahaha But yeah, we used to, and I used to just put the phone down on them...fun

Terry, you're not alone! They irritate the hell out of me and now I use an answering machine and caller id to screen ALL my calls!

I also stuck a note on my front door as well and I've not been pestered by sales ppl since!

Terry I used to get bugged like that all the time. There is a number you can call to remove yourself from these telephone sales lists and it does significantly reduce the number of calls. We don't get them nearly so much now. I will try and find it for you

I hate them! they mostly call for my parents to ask if they want to remortgage our house or take out an insurance on something. But after 6pm they dont stand much of a chance of getting through. I wish they would go away, we are ex-directory anyway so they shouldnt call

We don't get them so much these days but there was a time when they'd be calling two or three times a night and if you get arsey with them they make you feel as if they're doing you a favour.

What i object to now is junk mail. People trying to sell awful, awful clothes from dreadful little publications which are addressed to me. Heaven knows where they've got my name and addy from but sometimes I get as many as four publications in a day. Doug says one day our postie is going to sue us for getting an hernia

We get them here too....pisses me off. Usually around the same time every afternoon.
"are you selling summit?"
" well er...."
"Not interested" *hangs up*

Lucky I don't get many cuz my lines are private. HOW they even get the number to start with is beyond me
